DEBATE: Atheist vs Muslim (Christopher Hitchens vs Tariq Ramadan)

Debate at 92nd and street Y October 2010 with moderator Lorrie Goldstein

A very interesting debate that went on for a long long time

The only problem I have with it, that it, bore no resemblance to what he says elsewhere and this is the crux of the matter to me

Well spoken and well-educated people can in many instances give the appearance of meaning. Actually, what they say in this case, documentary evidence to the contrary says otherwise

Here is just one quote

“We are not here to adopt Western values, we are here to colonize the U.S. (and Canada) and spread Islamic sharia law Canada has one of the easiest legal systems to penetrate and advance sharia from within… but if that doesn’t work, we won’t hesitate to use violent jihad.”

Tariq Ramadan

and there many many more!

Part #2

Tariq Ramadan Christopher Hitchin

Debate at 92nd and street Y October 2010 with moderator Lorrie Goldstein

The second part of this is the rebuttal by a Christopher Hitchins  who is Christopher Hitchins here’s short version but you can look him up

Having long described himself as a socialist, a Marxist and an anti-totalitarian, Hitchens began his break from the established political left after what he called the “tepid reaction” of the Western left to the controversy over The Satanic Verses, followed by the left’s embrace of Bill Clinton, and the antiwar movement’s opposition to NATO intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s. His strong support of the Iraq War separated him further
